Pines Trail, Quetico Provincial Park
Hike to the Pines on Pickerel Lake, will start at the Pines Trailhead located near the south end of Dawson Trail (Ojibway Campground). The Pines Trail takes in a sandy beach guarded by a stand of majestic old growth Red and White Pine. This trail includes moderate to steep climbs and in some areas it nears the Pickerel River. The Pines is a spot on Pickerel Lake that has a beach where we will stop for lunch before returning to Dawson Campground. Please bring plenty of fluids and a lunch and wear sturdy hiking boots. An Ontario Provincial Pass or a day pass is required. Option to book a campsite as we will do another hike the next day. After the hike you are invited to a Potluck dinner at Hike Leader’s camp on Marion Lake, approximately 8 km west of Quetico Park.
