DESCRIPTION:We will walk the Sleeping Giant Park and Silver Islet roads in a loop starting at the Middlebrun Bay trailhead. This is an easy 6 km hike on paved roads with flat sections and gentle hills. We will travel in a counterclockwise loop to Silver Islet\, where we will eat lunch at the picnic tables on the Silver Islet Pier. We will return to the trailhead via the Avenue and Camp Bay. The scenery along the shoreline of Lake Superior is spectacular\, with views of the Sleeping Giant\, Pie Island\, Trowbridge Island and Isle Royale. The Avenue passes by the historic Silver Islet General Store and miners’ cabins. This hike is relaxed pace to accommodate slow hikers\, with opportunities for naturalist and historical interpretation. The hike will be limited to 20 participants. There is a fee of approximately $16 for an Ontario\ndaily vehicle park permit (or alternatively one can be borrowed from the Thunder Bay Public Library). SUMMARY:Prince and Jarvis Hike
DESCRIPTION:The hike starts from approximately 7 km on south Walker Road in Neebing Township. It follows an old cross-country ski trail up a mesa with views of Prince and Jarvis Bays to a great lookout over Lake Superior. The trail passes through some old growth forest\, by a big pond\, to a nice lunch spot in Mink Bay. The trail loops up a valley with views of surrounding cliffs. There could be wet areas along the trail. Bring lunch and plenty of fluids. SUMMARY:Wishart Conservation Area Hike
DESCRIPTION:This trail is in pretty good shape\, with a bit of overgrowth in some areas.  There is steep climb (approximately 120 m) at about the ½ way point.  Some rough terrain and some muddy spots\, with a very nice view from the top. DESCRIPTION:Meet at the South Site to drive to the trailhead at the Ontario Visitor Centre at the Pigeon River/US border. Hike 2.5 km loop to High Falls and then up to the Lookout on the Middle Falls trail for lunch. Return to the Finger Point cut off to the lake and approximately 1 km boardwalk to the parking lot. Bring fluid a lunch and fluid. This is a dog friendly hike. DESCRIPTION:This 2.7 km loop takes you through a Boreal Forest to the top of a hill for views of Lake Superior where we will stop for lunch. We will start walking down an old road\, which leads to a steep climb of approximately 270 feet in elevation\, which may be challenging for novice hikers. Bring a lunch and plenty of fluids. After the Brunner trail we will drive for ice cream/snack and hike a short trail at the Hurkett Cove. Dorion.
