SUMMARY:James Duncan – Little Trout Bay to Big Trout Bay\, Cobble Beach and return
DESCRIPTION:This hike starts across from the Little Trout Bay parking lot.  A challenging trail along a mountain ridge with spectacular overviews.  We’ll continue to the Cobble Beach at Big Trout Bay and return the same way.  Total elevation gain will be in the order of 50 meters with steep climbs and descents.  This hike is limited to 12 people. This will be a fast-paced hike and tough as well. SUMMARY:Middlebrun Bay\, Sleeping Giant Provincial Park
DESCRIPTION:We will hike to Middlebrun Bay on Lake Superior\, near Silver Islet. This is an easy hike with flat sections.  The distance of 4.6 km ranks as an easy hike.  We will have lunch at Middlebrun Bay Beach. This hike will be a relaxed pace to accommodate slow hikers.  There is a fee of approx. $21 for Ontario Daily Vehicle Permit or 2026 Ontario Park Pass.  (Alternatively\, a Park Pass may be borrowed from any Thunder Bay Public Library in advance).  This will be a dog friendly hike; Park regulations require dogs to be leashed at all times.  This hike will be limited to 15 participants. \nLevel of Difficulty: Easy\nHiking Distance: 4.6 km. / 4 hrs.\nTravel Time/Travel Distance: 100 km / 2 hrs.\nSuggested Gas Contribution: $16

DESCRIPTION:Explore the Nature Conservancy of Canada trail.  A hike on a looped trail with stunning views.  This large mesa overlooks the Pearson Wetlands\, a designated conservation reserve. The fall colors should be popping with a large tamarack forest below. SUMMARY:Top of the Giant\, Sleeping Giant Provincial Park
DESCRIPTION:We will tackle this iconic hike in the low season. Getting to the Giant and back includes 14 km (7/7) of wider\, easy hiking trails. We will pass Tee Harbour (stopping on the way back to enjoy the rocky outcrop) and arrive at the Talus Lake Junction. Climbing the Giant includes a challenging switchback trail with 900 feet of elevation gain. But the hard work brings an impressive view of Lake Superior and Thunder Bay on clear days. We will eat lunch at the Chimney on the Giant. Wear sturdy footwear and bring plenty of food/water.  Additional Fees:  Park Pass Permit (day use) approx. $21. SUMMARY:Wishart Conservation Area
DESCRIPTION:This is a relaxed pace hike consisting of 2 loops. The shorter (2 km) trail follows the Current River.  The longer (4 km) trail involves a steep 100m climb.  There is some rough terrain\, possibly some muddy sections and a nice view from the top. The Wishart Conservation area is located on Onion Lake Road\, approximately 10.5 km from Wardrope Ave. Please wear appropriate footwear.  This is a conservation area and requires a 2026 Lakehead Regional Conservation Pass or a $5 fee per vehicle.  Bring a snack and fluids.  The hike is limited to 12 participants. \nLevel of Difficulty: Intermediate\nHiking Distance:7 km / 3 hrs.\nTravel Time/Travel Distance: 30 km / 45 min.\nSuggested Gas Contribution: $3
