SUMMARY:The Head of the Sleeping Giant Hike
DESCRIPTION:Leaving from the North Meeting Site\, we will drive to the South Kabeyun Trail Parking Lot. From there we will take the Sawyer Bay Trail to the Talus Lake\nTrail and then the Chest Trail to the Nanabosho Lookout. This lookout is a remarkable vantage point that over looks the entire Sibley\nPeninsula\, with views of Marie Louise Campgroud\, Sawyer Bay\, Hoorigan Bay\, Clavet Bay\, Silver Islet and Porphyry Island. We will return\nTo the Talus Lake Trail and Continue South to the Kabeyun Trail at Lehtinen’s Bay. From this point we hike 7.5 km on the Kabeyun Trail\nTo the parking lot. Total elevation climb is about 600 meters. Bring poles\, snacks\, lots of fluids and energy. DESCRIPTION:We will hike or snowshoe around the Forest Demonstration Trail at Kingfisher Lake\, on the property of the Lakehead Board of Education’s Kingfisher Lake Outdoor Centre.  The trail is well-groomed\, with a combination of flat sections and gentle slopes.  We will have lunch at the lookout near North Camp.  This will be a relaxed pace hike to accommodate slow hikers\, with opportunities for naturalist interpretation.  This hike will be limited to 20 participants.   \nLevel of Difficulty: Easy\nHiking Time/Hiking Distance: 4.5 km / 2 hr\nTravel Time/Travel Distance: 62 km / 1 hr\nSuggested Gas Contribution: $5

From here we will snowshoe up the High Falls trail\, and then cut off on the trail leading to Middle Falls.
