SUMMARY:Lehtonen's Bay Hike\, Sleeping Giant Park
DESCRIPTION:From the Thunder Bay Lookout\, Sleeping Giant Provincial Park\, we will hike down a long steep hill to a fairly flat section of land\, and then make our way to Clavet Bay overlooking Lake Superior and the Sleeping Giant. Trail is very slippery when wet with some boggy sections. We recommend gloves and boots with a good grip for crossing boulders and loose rock. Vehicle Day Pass is approx. $16 if no Ontario Park Pass. (Alternatively\, a Park Pass might be borrowed free from a Thunder Bay Public Library Branch in advance). SUMMARY:Mink Mountain Hike
DESCRIPTION:We will hike up a loop trail along the shorelines of Mink Bay and Sturgeon Bay Narrows to several panoramic views of the Lake Superior shoreline\, islands and surrounding hills. The trail consists of some flat sections at the shoreline and on top of Mink Mountain\, with steep climbs to and from the top. We will eat lunch at the Sturgeon Bay lookout and enjoy a second viewing break at the Mink Bay lookout. Bring a lunch or snack.
