SUMMARY:The Head of the Sleeping Giant\, Sleeping Giant Provincial Park
DESCRIPTION:Level of Difficulty: Very Difficult\nHiking Distance/Hiking Time: 18 km / 7 hrs.\nTravel Distance/Travel Time: 160 km / 2 hrs. \nWe will drive from the North Site to the Kabeyun Trail parking lot. From there we will take the trail to Sawyer Bay and continue along the shore until the side trail to the head. From there\, it is a steep climb to the top of the head. Total elevation difference to be hiked is about 600 meters. This event is limited to 12 participants. Bring poles\, snacks and lots of fluids. Vehicle day permit $15.50 ($12.50 for seniors).

SUMMARY:Deer Lake Mountain Trail
DESCRIPTION:Level of Difficulty: Intermediate/Difficult\nHiking Distance/Hiking Time: 8 km / 2.5 hrs.\nTravel Distance/Travel Time: 130 km / 2 hrs. \nTrailhead is 3.4 km north of Nipigon.  The wooded trail starts as a gradual climb and then circles the perimeter of Deer Lake with incredible views in all directions before returning to the trailhead.  We will do a spur trail overlooking No Good Lake.  Bring beverages and lunch\, and wear sturdy boots. Due to hunting season\, please wear appropriate bright colours.  This hike is limited to 14 participants.   Possibility of stopping at a restaurant after the hike.  Rain date is Sunday Nov. 3.

Josephine\, where you can sit near a rock ledge overlooking the border and Lake Superior\, and back towards Grand Portage. From there\, we will go to Mt. Rose\, for another steady climb for more great views. This will be a fast paced hike. Due to hunting season\, wear appropriate bright colors. Possibility of going to Grand Portage for early dinner or stop at the Neebing Roadhouse after. This hike will be limited to 12 participants. Passports required\, no fruit\, out of country medical insurance recommended. \n  \n  \n
