DESCRIPTION:CANCE:LLED DUE TO UNEXPECTED COMMITMENT FOR HIKE LEADER \nFrom the Thunder Bay Lookout\, we will hike down a long steep hill to a flat section of land\, and then make our way to Clavet Bay\, overlooking Lake Superior and the Sleeping Giant.  Trail is very slippery when wet with some boggy sections.  We recommend gloves and boots with a good grip for crossing boulders and loose rock.  Vehicle Day Pass approximately $21 (if no Ontario Park Pass).  (Alternatively\, a Park Pass may be borrowed from any Thunder Bay Public Library in advance.)  This hike is limited to 12 participants. \nLevel of Difficulty: Intermediate\nHiking Time/Hiking Distance: 11 km /4 hrs.\nTravel Time/Travel Distance: 140 km/ 2 hrs\nSuggested Gas Contribution: $10

SUMMARY:Nanabosho Lookout Trail\, Sleeping Giant Provincial Park
DESCRIPTION:Very Difficult – for experienced & well conditioned hikers only!  Please Note: Meeting time changed to 8:30 am\nWe will drive from the north side to the Kabeyun Trail Parking Lot. From there we will take the Sawyer Bay Trail to the Talus Lake\nTrail and then the Chest Trail to the Nanabosho Lookout. This lookout is a remarkable vantage point that over looks the entire Sibley\nPeninsula\, with views of Marie Louise Campgroud\, Sawyer Bay\, Hoorigan Bay\, Clavet Bay\, Silver Islet and Porphyry Island. We will return\nTo the Talus Lake Trail and Continue South to the Kabeyun Trail at Lehtinen’s Bay. From this point we hike 7.5 km on the Kabeyun Trail\nTo the parking lot. Total elevation climb is about 600 meters. Bring poles\, snacks\, lots of fluids and energy. This is not a dog friendly hike.\nThis hike is limited to 12 participants. \nLevel of Difficulty: Very Difficult\nHiking Time/Hiking Distance: 21 km / 7 hrs\nTravel Time/Travel Distance: 160 km/ 2 hrs\nSuggested Gas Contribution: $11
