SUMMARY:Pines Trail\, Quetico Provincial Park
DESCRIPTION:Hike to the Pines on Pickerel Lake\, will start at the Pines Trailhead located near the south end of Dawson Trail (Ojibway Campground). The Pines Trail takes in a sandy beach guarded by a stand of majestic old growth Red and White Pine. This trail includes moderate to steep climbs and in some areas it nears the Pickerel River. The Pines is a spot on Pickerel Lake that has a beach where we will stop for lunch before returning to Dawson Campground. Please bring plenty of fluids and a lunch and wear sturdy hiking boots. An Ontario Provincial Pass or a day pass is required. Option to book a campsite as we will do another hike the next day. After the hike you are invited to a Potluck dinner at Hike Leader’s camp on Marion Lake\, approximately 8 km west of Quetico Park. \nLevel of Difficulty: Difficult\nHiking Time/Hiking Distance: 10 km / 4-5 hrs\nTravel Time/Travel Distance: 320 km/4 hrs\nSuggested Gas Contribution: $32
